A short-term rental should feel like somewhere, not anywhere. We build that feeling for guests — and protect it for owners.
Makaan started with one home and a feeling most travelers know well. You book a place, you arrive tired, and something is just a little off. The key box is confusing. The reply to your question comes six hours later. The photos promised warmth and the room feels like nobody actually lives that way. It works, but it never quite feels like being welcomed.
We thought it could feel like more than that. So we started with a single property and ran it the way we would want our own home run. We answer quickly, because a guest standing at the door with luggage should not have to wait. We clean like someone we love is checking in next. We stock the things you forget to pack and set the lighting so it feels calm the moment you walk in. Small things, but they are the difference between a place you stayed and a place you remember.
That first home is still how we measure everything we do. The name says the rest. Makaan is the Urdu word for home. Not a unit, not a listing, a home. That is the standard we hold, whether someone is staying for a weekend or trusting us with a property they worked years to buy.
We take on a small number of homes on purpose. We would rather look after a few properties with real attention than manage a hundred from a distance. If that sounds like the kind of care you want for your own place, we would love to talk.

To give property owners the returns of a professionally run hotel and the ease of doing nothing — by treating every guest, and every home, exceptionally well.
To grow into a trusted collection of beautifully managed homes across cities — where a Makaan badge means a guest can book with confidence and an owner can rest easy.
Every decision passes one test: does it make the stay feel more like a home and less like a transaction?
Clear fees, clear reports, clear conversations. If we wouldn't say it to your face, we won't put it in fine print.
Our fee is tied to your revenue. Growing your net is the only way we grow ours.
We add homes only as fast as we can keep them exceptional. Curation over quantity, always.
